Organizations Support the Affordable Housing Program

PIKE COUNTY, INDIANA – On August 14, 2025, Arevon announced a commitment of $25,000 to Pike County’s Affordable Housing Program. Pike County Economic Development Corporation has launched the Affordable Housing Program to identify blighted properties, clean up the property, work with developers to build or renovate new, safe, affordable in-fill housing opportunities.  This program is not affiliated with government subsidized workforce housing programs.

On August 11, 2025, the Being for Others Foundation awarded $25,000 for the Affordable Housing Program. Other organizations have also supported the Housing Program.  As of today, the total committed funds for the Pike County Affordable Housing Program have fundraised a total of $62,000 with a couple other outstanding requests.

The Executive Director of Pike County Economic Development stated, “We are so grateful to have support from Arevon and the Being for Others Foundation grant springboard this program.  Last year, we used $25,000 to clean up a blight property in Petersburg with the Pike County Community Foundation grant and realized there is such a need to continue this program long-term.  We will be able to make a much greater impact with these contributions. The Affordable Housing Program will focus on eliminating blight properties and breathe new life into them by cleaning them up and bringing in developers to build new or renovate the property. This is important for our community because as it will result in an increase in population growth, raise assessed value and build community pride.”
