PIKE COUNTY, INDIANA – The Pike County Chamber of Commerce is hosting the Powered by Pike event that is showcasing the Pike County’s power generation. The public is welcome to the open house style event and will begin August 14th at 8:00 am ET – 7:00 pm ET at the Elmer Buchta Technology Center. During the event, you will be walking through the history of the coal mining, power generation, and companies will be present to discuss the alternative energy projects that are in construction and what the future of the power industry looks like. Pike County has been generating power since the 1800’s, it is part of our identity! With our talented workforce and interconnection capabilities Pike County will always be an active player in the power generation space.
Pike County’s Executive Director of the Pike County Chamber of Commerce stated, “The Power by Pike event is celebrating our past while embracing our future. This will help unite the county as we move forward with coal, natural gas, and renewable power generation.” All are welcome and there will be refreshments available for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We hope to see everyone come and celebrate the many power generation assets in Pike County.
